We adopted a turkey from Farm Sanctuary for Thanksgiving this year. His name is Oak. Our "adoption papers" haven't come yet, but that is his photo above. I'm sure that he's thankful that we won't be eating him tomorrow.
In line at the grocery store tonight, the guy behind us was buying 6 one gallon jugs of peanut oil for turkey frying. He looked at the pile of fresh vegetables in our cart with amusement.
