Garlic Cream Pizza Sauce

I find a lot of the recipes that I try by searching "vegan recipe" on Flickr. This pizza cream sauce was one of them. I forgot to take a photo of ours, but I wanted to post about how great it was anyway. The sauce is delicious and kept the pizza from getting dry--a huge problem with cheeseless pizzas, in general. We topped ours with edamame.

Garlic Cream Sauce
(from sean dreillinger)

1 tbsp "butter" (we use Earth Balance)
1 tbsp flour
.75 cup coconut milk
1 tsp dried basil
6 cloves garlic, pressed.
.5 tsp salt

We blended it all in the Vita-Mix, heated it in a saucepan until it thickened and spread it over a crust that we'd pre-baked for about 5 minutes. If you don't have a vitamix, melt the EB and flour to make a roux. Add remaining ingredients and heat until it thickens to a sauce-like consistency.
