Anniversary Cake

anniversary cake

Things have been so busy lately that I feel like I'm missing my favorite month. We had to drive back to OK last week for a funeral. As soon as we got back, we started preparing for the guitar show this weekend. So, it's been mostly sandwiches and pizza this week, though I did manage to make this chocolate cashew sheet cake for our anniversary on Wednesday. We were too tired to do anything except eat it and watch The West Wing.

Good news: Last night, the lady at Roti Grill told us that they don't use any ghee (just vegetable oil) and that the naan has no dairy in it. We were starving and extremely happy to hear that, so we shared a huge plate of chana balti, rice, garlic naan and veggie samosas.

ghee-less indian yummies and dairy-free naan sounds like the best news, indeed! that's so awesome! wahoooooo!

It's interesting that prior to your post about "sheet cake" I don't think I have ever heard that expression used before. It may be an American terminology or maybe I've just been living under a rock LOL Either way I really like the way it sounds and looks!
I always have an appetite for Indian food; pakoras and samosas are my favourite.
Happy Anniversary!!

It's always great to hear that something is vegan when you're out to eat! I hope you thoroughly enjoyed your Indian treats!

Great looking sheet cake, by the way!
